Special Ballots for the October 2024 By-Election for Councilor Summer Village of White Sands

If the municipality needs to continue with election day due to having more nominations than positions available, packages will begin to mail out after the nomination process is completed, to ones who requested prior to that date.

​Council for the Summer Village of White Sands has authorized special ballot voting for the By Election for Councilor to be held October 12, 2024. A Special Ballot is available upon request for those voters who cannot vote in person for the following reasons:

• Physical disability
• Absence from the local jurisdiction for the by-election on October 12, 2024
• Being a returning officer, deputy returning officer, constable, substitute returning officer, candidate, official agent, or scrutineer who may be located on election day at a voting station other than that for the elector's place of residence

When requesting the Special Ballot Package, youcan fill out the form and provide ALL of the following information or send an email with all the information below:

• Full name of voter
• Street Address in White Sands
• Mailing Address to send the Special Ballot Package to
• Contact telephone number
• Contact Email address
• Reason for requesting the Special Ballot (physical disability or absence from White Sands on the election date)

Deadline to request the Special Ballot package is September 26, 2024, by 4:00 PM as you must allow sufficient time for the package to be mailed to you and mailed or couriered back to the Returning Officer by 7:00 p.m. on October 12, 2024, (Election Day). There is no option in the Local Authorities Election Act to move documents electronically. You can also make arrangements to pick up the package from the Returning Officer before September 26, 2024. Please contact the Returning Officer should you need the Special Ballot package. Otherwise voting will be on October 12, 2024, in person at the White Sands Multi-Plex.
