What is the White Sands Fire Committee?
This committee is a community VOLUNTEER group created in 2025 that is dedicated to education, communicating and preparing the residents of the Summer Village of Whites Sands for fire prevention and first response until the Fire Department is onsite and in control of a fire within the village.

Objectives:
- Create a volunteer committee in June 2025
- Create sub-committees for education, communication, preparedness and first response
- Keep the committee and sub-committees operating into the future for as long as White Sands does not have a fire department
- Enlist at least one property owner on every street in the village to be fire prepared with a well or water tank / trailer that can be accessed
- Provide Fire Smart prevention documentation to residents of the Summer Village of White Sands
- Create a telephone fan out list in the summer of 2025 and maintain that list into the future
- Investigate other communication systems to warn residents of a fire in progress
- Recommend standard hose and fitting sizes for residents with water wells and tanks
What they are NOT
- They are not a volunteer fire department
- They are not fire fighting experts
